Videos on Post-Partum Depression
The below videos were produced and released by Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, one of the largest free-standing behavioral health care providers in the United States offering inpatient, day programs, outpatient and residential care. According to their website, they are one of only a few places in the country offering a day program that women can bring their infant along to treatment for postpartum depression and other perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
According to Pine Rest, "Nearly 20% of pregnant women and mothers of young children and up to 10% of men with young children will develop postpartum depression or other PMAD (perinatal mood and anxiety disorder). In fact, PMADs are the most common complication of childbirth! The good news is that PMADs can be prevented and treated very successfully."
They have offices in Des Moines and Pella. Call 844.PMD.HOPE (844.763.4673)
